Manny Pacquiao denies rumours going around social media after his latest fight

Manny Pacquiao knocked out Lucas Matthysse in the 2:43 mark of the 7th round to win the WBA Welterweight Championship last Sunday. This was recorded as the boxer’s 60th career victory and 1st knock out since the year 2009.

The 40-year old boxer showed no signs of age as he dominated the Argentinian fighter with his speed and power. After the match, the fighting senator showed gratitude to all his supporters, and of course the Man above Himself.

Aside from making a successful comeback in the ring, on the business side of things, the fighting senator surely also made a lot of money off this match, as he always does after every fight.

A few days after the match, rumors started to spread regarding Manny and his earnings. According to some sources, he was apparently sponsoring contests for the public with the prizes being what he got from his most recent fight.

Pacman heard about the buzz going around in social media and immediately denied the rumors circulating. In his official statement (from Instagram user kapusoprgirl), he said:

“Nakarating sa aking kaalaman na may mga kumakalat na balita sa social media na ako ay namimigay ng mga premyo bilang balato dahil sa aking pagkapanalo. Nais ko pong ipaalam sa lahat na walang katotohanan ang mga ito. Fake news po ang contest na ito kaya’t huwag po kayong maniniwala at magpapaloko sa maling balita. Salamat po.”

This brought a bit of disappointment to some fans who claimed that they joined the contest. Luckily, the boxer was able to clear things up before people got scammed. Others, on the other hand, did not buy it from the beginning and shared their thoughts regarding the rumor.

We would like to congratulate Mr. Manny Pacquiao for his success last weekend.
