Everyone knows that Christmas is a time for giving. In an episode of “It’s Showtime,” a “Tawag ng Tanghalan” contestant received an early Christmas gift from the hurados. “Rakista ng Siquijor,” Roel Angot, showed off his singing talent by performing snippets of songs that the hurados originally performed. In the spirit of Christmas, it was like doing an impromptu caroling.
At first, Roel expressed how much of a fan he is to each of the hurados. Anne Curtis and Vice Ganda tested him by asking if he knows any of their songs.
He started singing a few songs from Rey Valera, Randy Santiago, then Mitoy Yonting. As soon as Mitoy heard him sing one of his songs similar to how he sang it, he got up, walk towards him and handed him PHP 2,000. Because of this, Vice asked Roel if he could sing more songs so that the other hurados may give him money as well, and he did.
He sang “Maging Sino Ka Man” and “Pangako Sa’Yo” from Rey Valera who gave him PHP 10,000. After that, he sang “Hindi Magbabago” and “Babaero” two of Randy Santiago’s originals, from him he received, PHP 3,000. Next, he sang “Nandito Ako” originally performed by Ogie Alcasid who gave him PHP 2,050.
But it did not end there, Anne and Vice also asked Roel if he knows any song of Vhong Navarro. Roel said he did and started singing “Totoy Bibo.” Vhong immediately handed him PHP 4,000. Ryan Bang also joined the fun and handed KRW 4,000. The hosts of the show called off Ryan saying that it did not have much value. But Vice said that it can still be used for a carpool ride.
Roel thanked the judges, the hosts, and the show for giving him an early birthday/ Christmas gift. According to Vice Ganda, Roel has been waiting to board a ship for a very long time and that he has two kids. He said that he deserves the blessing that he had just received and wished him well.
