KMJS sheds light on mysterious mountain of Sitio Bulwang in Negros Occidental Rose Byrne 16 hours ago 1 minute read.

When we think of gravity, most of us recall a time in school where we learned about Newton’s Universal Law of Gravitation. It states that gravity is a force that exists among all material objects in the universe. And so it influences the paths taken by everything traveling through space. But the existence of the mysterious force that is present in the mountain of Sitio Bulwang in Binalbagan, Negros Occidental suggests the possibility of shocking scientific advances in the field.

Based on the report of “Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho,” residents of Sitio Bulwang have noticed that something extraordinary is happening in the mountain. Case in point, whenever they try to park their car at the foot of the mountain and throw it into neutral, the car seemingly starts to roll uphill.

Very cool, indeed! But the residents’ beliefs have nothing to do with any scientific explanation. As for them, the mysterious experience is caused by the mythical creatures called “tamawos.” Based on superstition, the tamawos are the guardians of the treasures located at the peak of the mountain.

However, according to some experts, the real explanation has nothing to do with any superstitious beliefs. Instead, it could probably be caused by the phenomenon called “Magnetic Hill.” In an interview with Engr. Paolo Betita, a Chemical Engineer, he explained:

“Yung composition ng bato at lupa nagkakaroon siya ng mga metals na responsible for magnetic properties. Nag iinteract yung mga metals doon sa sasakyan , [at] sa mga metals sa paligid. That’s why napu-pull siya. It’s just normal na bababa talaga due to gravity, yung car.”

But strangely, after conducting a metal analysis, they found out that the mountain has a very low content of metals. That’s why they concluded that it’s not really magnetism that drives the mysterious phenomenon. Instead, it is actually gravitation since it is only gravity that has the ability to pull the water.

All things considered, experts inferred that the mountain is indeed a Gravity Hill. Based on studies, a Gravity Hill “is a place where the layout of the surrounding land produces an optical illusion, making a slight downhill slope appear to be an uphill slope”.

With that in mind, it’s safe to say that people are not mistaken when they said that their cars were rolling up the hill. But, little did they know that they weren’t seeing the motion correctly. Because it was the actually the odd optical illusion that gives them the sense of moving uphill even though they are actually heading down.
