ACCORDING to one source, in demand free agent Tom Lynch has all but decided on his Victorian club of choice.

And a mature-age recruit is looming as the “next Tim Kelly”.

It’s all in the Trade Whispers!

TOM Lynch is heading to reigning premiers Richmond, says former Fairfaix chief footy writer Caroline Wilson.

The former Gold Coast co-captain, whose season was ended by a knee injury, is weighing up his options as he makes the move back to Victoria.

While Hawthorn and Collingwood are also in the race, Wilson suggested the Tigers had secured their man.

“He’ll go to Richmond,” Wilson said on Footy Classified.

“But I’m not going to say I’m taking it to the bank.

“But as much as I can say anything definitively this year, Tom Lynch will end up at the Richmond Football Club.”

HE WAS arguably the recruit of the year.

But the Gold Coast Suns, along with other clubs, believe there’s another Tim Kelly playing in the WAFL, who could have similar success in the AFL.

Marlion Pickett, who was jailed in his late teens, has starred for South Fremantle, with Gold Coast list manager Craig Cameron confirming the club’s interest in the 26-year-old to the Courier Mail.

He is carrying ‘the next Tim Kelly’ label but he’s a slightly different player,’’ Cameron said. “He’s a bit more of an inside midfielder and he’s a bit older than Kelly also.’’

DYLAN Shiel becomes a free agent at the end of 2019, a time by which it’s understood the talented GWS on-baller wants to entertain a move back to Victoria.

But several clubs are chasing the 25-year-old, who Caroline Wilson believes could be tempted to move south prematurely.

“He’s genuinely torn about whether he wants to go or not go,” Wilson said on Footy Classified.

“He’s on very big money. Carlton is pursuing him vigorously. Hawthorn and Essendon, we hear, are the other two clubs strongly in the race.

“It’s definitely the view of (GWS) that if they could free up his money now — not that they want to lose him — but if they could free up his money now that saves two players and maybe they’re better to do it now than the end of next year.”
